australian classes

Men and women of all ages and walks of life are welcome to come and study Hilal Dance and experience the life enhancing benefits that learning the dance can bring - joy, physical wellbeing and the feeling of being alive.

Classes are conducted by teachers who have completed, or are currently undergoing professional training in Hilal Dance. Each class includes holistic bodywork with yoga-like exercises that connect breath with movement to unblock tension and promote a grounded flow of energy. The training is designed to enable students to experience a deep sense of dynamic alignment and ease of movement. The Hilal dance movements and concepts are taught with a strong emphasis on musicality using a rare and beautiful music collection from the folk and classical traditions of Egypt.

Australian students have the opportunity to train with international artists Suraya Hilal and Alessandro el Bascioni during annual workshops
